1. White Vinegar – eliminates grease, soap scum and grime. Vinegar is an effective yet gentle way to clean.
DIY Window Spray
1-part white vinegar
4 parts of water
An old spray bottle
Optional: lemon juice
Mix the white vinegar and water in a spray bottle and add lemon juice if you want a citrus scent to your window spray.
2. Castile Soap - made from 100% plant-based soaps and is free of animal products and chemical detergents. Castile soap also is very effective at cutting through grease.
DIY Castile Soap Dish Soap
1 cup liquid castile soap
2 TBS water
An old soap bottle or mason jar with a pump lid
Optional: a few drops of preferred essential oil
Mix together the liquid castile soap and water into a bottle and add optional essential oil.
3. Baking Soda – Did you know that baking soda has virus-killing abilities? Baking soda is effective at cleaning and deodorizing, along with cutting through grease and grime.
DIY Bathroom Air Freshener
¼ cup Baking soda
5-10 drops of preferred essential oil
An old jar with a lid (will poke holes in the lid)
Add baking soda in a jar and add preferred essential oil. Take the lid and poke about 5 holes in the top.
4. Olive Oil – Did you know that olive oil is a fantastic polisher? Move over Old English…
DIY Furniture Polish
¼ cup vinegar
¾ olive oil
For wood furniture: combine ¼ lemon juice with ½ olive oil
Mix together the vinegar and olive oil and use a soft cloth to apply to your furniture.
