The right gutter color can complement the exterior of your home and highlight certain features.
Many homeowners go with the standard white/off-white factory-finish gutter color for one of two reasons. Some choose the white simply because they like how it looks, others go with white because they’re not quite sure which color to choose. When a homeowner isn’t sure which color will complement their home best, they resort to white as a "safe" choice, thinking that the white will go with everything. This isn’t always the case though.
This isn't to say that white is always the wrong color choice for gutters. It's all dependent on the type of look you’re going for.
Most design experts recommend matching the gutter color to either the roof or the trim.
These are helpful guidelines when picking a color for your gutters.
When you should match your gutters to your trim:
- If you want your gutters to blend in
- If the trim on your house is thick
When you should match your gutters to your roof:
- If the trim on your house is thin
When NOT to match your gutters to your trim or roof:
- If you’re after a bold look
In this case, you want to choose a complementary color that’s lighter and or darker than your homes roof and trim.
Keeney Home Services currently offers LeafGuard gutters in 15 different colors. This allows you to customize based on the look and feel that you're going for.
